Emitac Mobile Solutions get a Human Space Touch

The client, a leading player in the global telecoms market, provided a challenging brief; with extensive requirements for a new head office, timelines were very tight, due to previous lease expiry. Along with space to accommodate high numbers of professionals, more than 400 workstations, the brief called for associated training & meeting rooms, staff dining and executive suites, with highly complicated IT network specifications.

As a fast-growing communications company, it was important for the design to encourage dialogue, exchange of ideas and both formal and informal interaction.  We achieved this through layouts that encourage movement, providing interesting, varied and colourful spaces for meetings, and leisure, while also maintaining access to the natural light and encouraging engagement with the incredible cityscape view from this high-rise office. We spent time understanding the ‘core principles’ important to the firm, the aspirations they had for the new office and frustrations with their existing space. This approach is important in our firm – from an initial concept to the final realization of any project, we insist on providing clients with plans and designs that can be built and are accurate in terms of materials, fittings and technical limitations.

The design theme was intended to balance the technical and virtual nature of the client’s products and business.  We favored the use of natural materials, including wood – providing a sustainable, high-quality environment for employees and visitors to enjoy. Quality was paramount and something the client understood and committed to, working with us in accepting our selection of high-quality European furniture.
